Being a coach myself, I know that people are always calling for a coach's head, and much of it unjustified. It's not about wins/losses, about who is starting, etc etc, but shouldnt a HS varsity basketball coach be enthusiastic about basketball? Shouldn't basketball be his favorite sport to coach, not just a football coach who also coaches basketball? Shouldnt a coach be teaching the game to his players instead of holding his head in his hands looking at the floor embarrassed that they are losing so bad?
I know coaching is a cut-throat business, and too many coaches are fired for reasons out of their control. I have nothing against the guy, but when is enough enough? If he taught math, and hated teaching math, and couldn't teach math, and the whole time was thinking about coaching history, would we stand for it? I doubt it.
How do people go about getting a coaching change without looking like its a witch-hunt?
