Hi Brian,

I have a question regarding the wording of the instruction for this drill from the Cross Over & Blitz books. As stated, it reads “Only the dribble advances the ball in the backcourt; all passes must be backwards.” It's a bit confusing to me. Does this mean the following?:

  • All passes in the back court must be backwards
  • Once past half court, passes can be in any direction

Thanks,

Brendan

Yes. Passes in the backcourt must be even or backward, kind of like rugby. Once in the front court, anything goes (within basketball rules of course).
